James Richard Mondol (born October 31, 1978 in Milan, Italy) is an Italian singer, guitarist, telecommunication engineer, best known as the lead singer and the acoustic guitarist in acoustic rock band Mystic Vysion.

Brief summary

Before Mystic Vysion, Mondol was the singer in a power hard rock band called Sovrana from 1998 until two years later in 2000. He was discovered in 1998 by a friend of him, Serena Crevenna, while he was singing a Timoria’s song ‘Sangue Impazzito’. Serena proposed him as a singer to a band of friends that were searching a vocal to form a new band next called Sovrana. James sang for 2 years with Sovrana and then he quit for exploring and proving new vocal style alone. He attended 2 years of Personal lessons for improving his techniques from 2002 to 2004 and in 2005 he joined a cover rock band called ‘The Holograms’ but they played together only for 6 months. In 2006 he founded the Mystic Vysion together with Milani.

Childhood

James Richard Mondol was born in Milan but his parents are from India and he is the first of two sons. His brother, Jones, was born in 1983. His father Clement Mondol came to Italy in 1966 for studying and met his wife Dipti Ribeiro during a trip in India to visit their relatives. They married after few days of their first date and they moved together in Milan where James’ father worked in 1977. When James was about to start the second class of the primary school his parents moved from Milan to Arqua Polesine, a small town near Rovigo. Mondol's first musical experience was singing at the primary school as soloist during the school plays .He was interested in music very young listening to Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Michael Jackson and Cindy Lauper. When James was sixteen, his family moved to Calco (LC). He found it difficult to adapt himself to the new environment and in his spare time he tried to play an acoustic guitar belonging to his young brother, Jones. Attending the High school ‘Liceo Scientifico M.G Agnesi’ in Merate Mondol approached the Hard Rock and Heavy Metal music thank his classmates and started to listen to band as Metallica, Guns n Roses, Pantera, Nirvana, Skid row and many other heavy bands. During that days he discovered the one who gave inspiration in the singing style.. Sebastian Bach, the former front man of Skid Row. At the Age of 18 his parents gave him an electric guitar as present and tried to play in some local bands.

Youth

After graduating at Liceo Scientifico in 1997 he attended the Politecnico di Milano for becoming a telecommunication engineer . He met many guys listened to metal music and he focalized his attention to thrash metal and power speed metal. In 1998 he became the singer of Sovrana. Sovrana played many heavy metal cover songs as Iron Maiden, Metallica, Gun n roses, Megadeth, Kiss. They wrotes three onw songs in Italian but never recorded in studio. In the year 2000 Mondol quit Sovrana and started a personal research of his own voice style, singing alone in his home. He decided in 2002 to take some lessons and he attended for two years the Music School Gerry Music in Barzanò. Thank his teacher Vittorio Centro he learned how to sing and breathe correctly. In 2004 he graduated as engineer and in 2005 he was the vocals of The Holograms that didn't last long, but it encouraged Mondol to continue to work to be a musician. In 2006 after a talk with his bud Marco Milani they agreed to join in a duo just for singing and playing their favorite songs in a new way. Acoustic! After few months and after a lot of beer in theri bodies they formed Mystic Vysion!

Recent life

Mondol's interests include literature, travelling, wine (he is attending some oenology courses). From 2004 he worked in Nokia Siemens Networks and frequently he travel for his job. He moved to Imbersago (LC) in 2007 where he live alone.

Singing style

Like singers such as, Freddie Mercury, James La brie, Rob Halford, Sebastian Bach Bruce Dickinson and many others, James has a tenor (high range) singing voice. Mondol, always noted for his broad range as a singer and his very clear and sweet voice. He is inspired from Sebastian Bach whom James adores, he usually says :’Sebastian Bach is my god, he was sent from God for singing and I love his voice, it makes me cry!’.

Marco ‘Straccio’ Milani (born September 5, 1974 in Lecco, Italy) is an Italian singer, guitarist, and some kind of feet percussionist, great electrician and official member of Mystic Vysion.

Brief summary

Straccio started playing guitar at 17, trying to emulate his favorite guitarist and singer as ‘Max Cavalera’ from Sepultura is.In the first 90’s with a bassist and a drummer he created a band called ‘Plastik Brain’, in brief baptized ‘Take death’.Playing pure ‘trash metal’ they frequented clubs and parties proposing their music, but in 1997 ‘Take Death’ was over. Straccio still continue playing and singing, without a group till 2007, a decade out of the scene coming to head new styles of voice and guitar playing.In 2006 with James he founded Mystic Vysion and that’s all folks...

Childhood and Youth

Marco Straccio Milani was born in Lecco, a little country in the north Italy.He’s got two younger sisters, two parents, two nephews and a grandma that always drives all them crazy.In the childhood Milani’s family has been one year and half in the States and a year in Germany cause of head of the family work.So Straccio have learned good English and acquired a good ear, listening to American music.He also travelled from Peru to East Timor tasting different styles of music and life, getting so an ample treatment of the existence subject matter.Marco attended five years of High School studying as electrician and now he’s been an “electric man” since 16 years ago.During the High School Straccio heard “trash-metal” music by his classmate and he liked it very much. So he procured a lot of metal tapes as Sepultura, Pantera, Machine Head, Antrax etc…That kind of music was exploding inside of him and the only way to get it out was through an electric guitar and a mic!!!That was only the beginning of his music career.From Plastik Brain to Take Death, Mystic Vysion is the present.

Recent life

Straccio’s interests’ further music is: wood chopping, playing soccer, drinking’ GUINNESS, day dreaming’ and brunette as the beer.From 2000 to 2002 he lived in Venice just to turn over a new leaf.Till now he lives alone in San Zeno (LC) waiting to take things as they come.

Singing style

Straccio’s voice is dirty like the anger inside of him.His timbre recollects a lot ROBB FLYNN from “Machine Head”, some kind of scratchy and deep.With James as school-master his voice improved on many scales and techniques.The best way to understand? just listen to him!!!
